Firefighter Jacob Garcia has been selected as the Running 4 Heroes "Injured First Responder Grant Recipient" for June 2023. On April 27th, Firefighter Garcia was injured during firefighting operations due to a structural collapse. 

As a result of the injuries sustained, Firefighter Garcia will undergo extensive therapy at a rehabilitation center, as well as surgeries that require him to travel to Houston, Texas. 

Running 4 Heroes presented a $10,000 check to firefighter Jacob Garcia in San Antonio. The award is from the group’s ongoing fundraisers for injured first responders and families of police officers who were killed on the job.
